Yet again we have a Revolver update!
The revolver came out earlier this week and within minutes the hype had turned into fear, with the damage being ridiculously high for a pistol. The weapon far overshadowed some of the other good points in the update bringing more heat onto the devs at Valve with some, admittedly overzealous, calls of people “quitting” the game. But, anything that can coax those sorts of statements out of long time players is enough to cause concern in the dark depths of Valve clearly as they have quickly issued a statement of intent.
“On Tuesday we shipped some major gameplay changes in CS:GO including the R8 Revolver, and players have been voicing legitimate concerns over the balance of the weapon as shipped”
“While it typically takes more time to generate enough data to drive an update (and gameplay updates are always a bit disruptive), in this case it’s clear that we got the damage wrong and can respond immediately.”
“So today we’re updating the R8 Revolver to bring its values to be more in line with other weapons: among other changes, its damage has been reduced and it takes slightly longer to fire.”
So, this means that today, an update has hit to reduce damage and increase charge time, we will see if this change is enough to bring balance to the game. Happy hunting, cowboys.
